On the afternoon of 22nd July 2015, the signing ceremony of “Urban Mining - Resources Recycling Industry Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement” between China Association of Circular Economy and GEM was held at GEM (Wuhan) Resources Recycle Industrial Park.

Before the signing ceremony, Ms. Zhao Jiarong, the president of China Association of Circular Economy, who was accompanied by Prof. Xu Kaihua, the president of GEM Group visited the GEM’s Urban Mining Museum, intelligent information-monitoring platform, e- Waste and ELV Green Dismantling Workshop.

During the signing ceremony, President Xu introduced GEM’s current development situation and future development plans. Ms. Zhao appreciated the level of comprehensive re-utilization of scrapped cars. She mentioned that she has been to GEM five times and she saw a great leap occurred in technology and equipment. She hoped both sides could cooperate to promote the recycling industrial and achieve the goal of Beautiful China construction.

China Association of Circular Economy and GEM decided to carry out extensive a nd in-depth cooperation in the field of “Urban Mining”, to establish the strategic cooperation relationship in order to promote the healthy development of China’s circular economy, to raise the competitive of the two sides in the field of circular economy and promote the GEM’s recycling industry to get a greater and stronger.

As the agreement regulates, both sides would launch the “Urban Mining - Resources Recycling Industry Alliance”, hold Urban Mining Development Forum annually, create “Urban Mining” Wechat Platform, organize the exhibition of “Urban Mining”, promote “Internet+ Classified Recycling” in main cities, make in-depth cooperation of waste recycling, urban mining trading platform, policies & standards support, technology consulting, publicizing and international communication.

The meaning of signing this agreement is to meet the opportunities and challenges on the development of circular economy under the new economic normal, to make new achievements under the new economic normal, to have profound significance of implementation the spirit of the third and the fourth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee Conference. Through bilateral strategic cooperation, both sides could achieve the fusion of resources, techniques and capitals, to promote great development of circular economy while enhance the company’s profitability and core competitiveness.
